CSS Release Day W1...

Saturday, January 5, 2013

Hello!  I'm so happy to be here, sharing the newest products being released by Clear & Simple Stamps. First, I'm sharing a really fun and versatile alphabet set, Alpha Clear.  I love that the letters are an outline and you can color them any color you like.  I didn't do that here because I love them as-is.
You can also spot another new product on my card, did you see it?!  It's a new embossing plate with a houndstooth design, which is one of my favorite patterns!  It's called Imprints 5 and has an elegant design on the flip side of sheet music and pinecones.
Lot's of fun laters on this card, which makes it perfect for my little guy's birthday.  It uses his favorite colors and it's personalized, I think he'll love it.
Can't forget about the gift!  I made a coordinating gift tag using the same Alpha Clear set as the card and also using Imprints 5 for the houndstooth design.

Next up is an addition to the Uppercase and Lowercase die cut alphabet sets, Symbols.  I have so many cards using emoticons pinned on Pinterest.  I'm so glad I was finally able to make a set.
These cards were so simple.  I used Imprints 5 on all the card bases and Lowercase Alpha for all the words.  Here's the how the emoticons were created:

Laugh: Colon, Uppercase letter D
Wink: Semi Colon, Dash, End Parenthesis
Smile: Equal Sign, End Parenthesis

My only dilemma was figuring out if I should leave the emoticons sideways like they would appear on a screen, like :) .  In the end I decided I wanted the emoticons to be obvious.
There are even more products being released today, you won't want to miss them!  Check them out at these following blogs:

A {Happy 5th Birthday} Card...

Thursday, January 3, 2013

Hey there!  Sunlight was not on my side when I took this photo today.  The sun was out in full force so that's why my card has some shadows.  I think you can get the gist though.

My card is a CASE of this card I found on Pinterest.  I loved the layout and tried to recreate it based on the supplies I have on hand.  This card is for my nephew, so I wanted to keep it as boyish as possible.
Here's a close-up of the center panel.  Ugh, those shadows.

Have a great day!

Another {Happy Birthday} Card...

Tuesday, September 4, 2012

Hey guys!  I hope you all had a great weekend, we sure did.  Scott and I finally went out last night for my birthday (yes, over a month late).  We had so much fun though, going out to dinner and exploring a new park downtown.

So, my mother-in-law's birthday was on the 30th and it's a big one.  They are finally back in town from a long vacation, so we are finally going to celebrate her 60th birthday by going out to dinner on Sunday.

This card uses the Circle Trio die, but using only two of the circles.  The numbers fit perfectly!
Well that's all for me!  Hope you have a great day!!!

{Happy 10th Anniversary} Sweetie

Friday, July 6, 2012

Hello!  Happy 10 year anniversary to me and my husband!!!  Technically we celebrated it when we were in Toronto, but we couldn't let the official day pass without acknowledging it somehow.  So, we are going to the jewelry store (it's been 10 years, I think it's time I get a wedding band to go with my engagement ring), and then dinner and a movie.  I can't wait!

So, here's the card I made for my hubby.  It's a one layer card and there is a wood-grain panel in the center that is really hard to see, but it's there.  I used stamps from 4 sets on this card!
I just love those swirly stamps from the Taglines: Critters set, they are so easy to manipulate.  I tried to keep the girly-ness to a minimum, but I did have to throw in that cupid.
Here's a close-up of the wood-grain I was telling you about.  It's slightly darker than the card base.

I'll be back bright and early tomorrow (and the day after) for some Clear & Simple Stamps releases.  You won't want to miss it.

Have a great day!

A {Class of 2012} Grad Card...

Wednesday, April 25, 2012

Hello!  As soon as I received the Number Blocks stamps set from CSS, I couldn't wait to start making graduation cards using the colors of the local high schools.  I love to personalize cards!  This card features green and white, which are the colors of my alma mater.  I think I get the love of the color green from a different place though, not high school.

The number stamps are so bold against the green because I used white embossing powder.  How fun!  This powder even had bits of glitter in it for an extra special kick.
Have I told you lately how much I adore Glamazon Green?  Well, I do!  The End.

Have a great day!

A {Happy 4th Birthday} Card...

Tuesday, April 3, 2012

We had much fun with with last month's Clear & Simple Stamps Baby Collection release that we are going to review them again. Today the design team and I are focusing on Alphabets + Numbers.  I chose to work with one of my new favorite sets, Number Blocks.

This card took on a life of it's own.  Once I had the idea to link the elephant to the wagon, it snowballed from there.  I just kept adding and adding, far from my usual clean and simple style.  But I do love the way it turned out.  It's good to take a step out of your comfort one every now and again.
Some more detail shots!
Be sure to check out what my pals created with today's theme of Alphabets + Numbers.

If that wasn't enough fun, I also have a super sweet card featured on the Clear & Simple Stamps APP today.  You won't want to miss it!

Have a great day!

A {Happy 25th Anniversary} Card...

Friday, March 23, 2012

I have a classy anniversary card to share with you today!  Twenty-five years is the silver anniversary, so silver embossing powder was a no-brainer.  This card has a lot of shimmer and shine to it, even the pattern paper has a reflective element.

Here's a little trick I discovered while making this card.  I love the labels image that comes with the CSS set Party Elements:Baby, but I just needed it to be bigger, like twice the size bigger.  Here's what the card looked like without all the embellishments.  I simply stamped the label image twice! Then you just cover up the center with a layer of whatever your heart desires.
Here's a shot I took in the sun so you can hopefully see some of the shimmer from all the silver.
Thanks for visiting today!  I hope you have a fantastic weekend!!!

A {Happy Anniversary} Card...

Thursday, March 15, 2012

Hello!  I had so much fun playing with these elephant die cuts yesterday, that I just had to make a second card, but this time using the negative image of the elephants.

I chose two coordinating pieces of patterned paper (the one on the right is cream in real life) to put behind the negative die cuts.  The patterned paper is adhered directly to the card base and then the slate color is adhered over the patterned paper using foam dots, for a 3D look.
I added a little heart between the two elephants to symbolize love.  The sentiment could also be changed to "I love you" as well.

I hope you are having a great day!!!

Clear & Simple Stamps: Group Project

Tuesday, March 13, 2012

Each year Pantone, the leading color enthusiasts of the design industry, selects the coveted color of the year. For 2012, the lucky winner is Tangerine Tango...better known around CSS as Orange You Fabulous.  For this month's group project, we are working with the color orange!
I had so much fun creating this card for my niece.  I started off by stamping the entire card base using a stamps from Circles Plus with Orange You Fabulous ink.  I covered the center of the card with a piece of cream card stock.  I stamped the sentiment on this piece of cream card stock using the same ink.

I created a panel using Creamsicle Cardigan with the numbers from the new Number Blocks set.
Orange Baker's Twine added a nice finishing touch.  I can't wait to give this too my niece, but I hope I remember since her birthday is in July.

Be sure to check out the rest of the Orange You Fabulous creations:

A {40 and Fabulous} Card...

Thursday, March 8, 2012

Hello!  I made this card for a challenge.  It's been a while since I've participated in one of those.  It's for this week's Runway Inspired Challenge.   I chose to use the colors of the clothing on my card.  I ended up loving the layout of the card, but I'm not quite to keen on the color combo, which I don't necessarily understand in the clothing either.

Maybe next time I'll be inspired by the feel or the elements used in the clothes themselves.  Thinking about it now, I should have used RUFFLES!
Thanks so much for joining me today!

Have a great day!
