A Baby {Congrats} Card...

Friday, June 24, 2011

Hi-ya friends!  I'm so happy it's Friday, I'm sure you are too.  I have a quick and easy baby card for you today. I think this one looks a little more boy-ish than girl-ish, but you can be the judge.

I was wanting to play with my copics today and was looking through my stamps to see what I had that could be colored in.  Well, I don't think I've ever used this little lion stamp so that was perfect.  I used three shades of yellow to color him in.

This card is pretty self explanatory so no need for any long-winded explanation from me.  As always, if you have any questions feel free to leave them in the comments.  I love comments!

Have a great weekend!

A {Sweet New Baby} Card...

Tuesday, May 3, 2011

Hi there!  I was really productive yesterday and got a lot done, including making this card.  I'm just now getting it on here.  I photographed it yesterday when it was a little overcast, today it is pouring down rain (again) and I'm sitting in front of a space heater as I type this.  This weather has been crazy!

How about we talk about this card.  It uses this week's CPS Sketch.  I did change it up a bit to accommodate the stamps I wanted to use.  We have a lot of expectant ladies in my family right now, so I might as well start stockpiling baby cards.

The sailboat was colored with regular old marker and then cut out and applied to the panel with foam dimensionals.  I die cut two blue ovals and tore the top edge to look like water/waves.

Have a great day!

Divine Diva Inspiration Challenge

Thursday, July 1, 2010

*This is my second post for today, make sure you scroll down to see everything*

Hi everyone!  I'm happy to be filling in for a Design Team member at the Divine Diva Inspiration Challenge, hosted by my OCC buddy, Lori Rider.  The photo above is the inspiration for this week's challenge.  Lori chose a photo that could be patriotic if you wanted to make a card for the upcoming holiday, but there are also other themes and colors you could use to go in a different direction.

I chose not to do a patriotic card, but a baby card.  These colors just scream 'baby boy' to me.
I pulled inspiration from the colors as well as the boat in the photo.  The boat stamp is from a Hero Arts set.  I stamped the boat first on white, then again on light blue and red.  I cut out the blue and red sails and applied them to the white card stock using foam dimensionals.
There are so many ways you can go with this inspiration photo.  Please check out the regular design team members to see their take on the photo:

Thank you for being so thoughtful...

Tuesday, June 15, 2010

Hello!  I wanted to make some thank you cards for a friend that is expecting a baby girl in July.  When you are making a set of cards, you want the layout to be simple and use minimal supplies.  I'm not someone who likes to make the same card over and over, so I want to make the process as quick and easy as possible (and still make a super cute card, of course!).

For this card I am only using one piece of 12" x 12" patterned paper.  I cut the patterned paper into 1/2" strips about 3 inches long.  Then I went through all my white paper scraps and pulled out any that could be trimmed to 2" x 2.5".  I'm planning on making about 20 cards, so I also pulled out 10 sheets of white card stock.   I stamped the elephant in pink on all the rectangle panels and sponged the edges and applied the green brad for the eye.  Next I stamped the sentiment in green on the card base.  Apply your patterned paper strips and then adhere the elephant panel using foam dimensionals.  Round the top right edge and your done!  Easy peasey!

I've only made 6 of these and have 14 more to go.  Everything is cut, so they just need to be assembled.  The perfect task for watching TV.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!!!
