Giveaway Winner!

Monday, November 29, 2010

Hello!  I thought I would just pop on here for a minute to announce the winner of my Thanksgiving giveaway!  It was a real treat to read what you all are thankful for this year.  I am so thankful that you take a little time out of your day to share with me.  This blog has brought me so much fulfillment.  I love sharing my creations with you and I cherish all the friends I've made in the process. Without further ado, the winner is Donna H. (I've emailed you)!!!

I made a card this morning and it was sorta a disaster.  I ordered a sewing machine and it should be here today, so I'm kinda in a sewing mood.  I might still post my card later today if I can fix it up a bit.  Thanks so much for playing along with my giveaway!  I would really like to do those more often!

Have a great day!

OCC Challenge - Tag, You're It!

Saturday, November 27, 2010

Hello!  I'm here bright and early with a new challenge from Our Creative Corner.  This one is particularly fun and got me right in the holiday spirit.  The challenge is to make a tag.  Fun, right?  It does not need to be a holiday theme, it could be for anything.

For my tag, I chose to use a cream and red color scheme.  The patterned paper is from Be-Loved by My Mind's Eye.  I've been using that a lot lately.  I also used a spiral notebook die from Papertrey Ink as well as an oval and a labels 9 nestabilities die. I attached the tag to the handle on the bag by threading the rope through one of the center holes in the paper, then I also taped the tag to the bag to make sure it wasn't going anywhere.
I hope you have time to play in this fun challenge.  Head on over to Our Creative Corner and check out all the variations of tags we came up with.  Have a great weekend!!!

An {I love you so much} Card...

Friday, November 26, 2010

Make sure you scroll down or click here for my GIVEAWAY post!

Hey guys!  I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!  We are fortunate to have two days to celebrate.  We spent this past Sunday with my family and then yesterday with my husband's family.  It works so well that way and no rushing around to be in two places.  We are having a lazy day here.  I printed out this week's Sketch Challenge at SCS on Wednesday and finally made a card for it this morning while still in my pajamas.

I really love this collection Be-Loved by My Mind's Eye.  The patterns compliment each other perfectly.  I used two types of stripes and two types of polka dots, but I think it all works.
Lots of dimension to this card, just how I like it!  All edges are sponged with red ink.  I love the shabby feel it gives the card.

Well, now that I'm caught up on cards and such, it's time to clean up the house a bit and start decorating for Christmas.  The kids are excited to help, something we do together every year.

Have a great day!

Paper Maniac Thursday - Give Thanks!

Thursday, November 25, 2010

Happy Thanksgiving!!!  In keeping with this week's theme on the Paper Maniac Blog, I made a Thanksgiving card.  One of my favorite kinds of cards to make involve punching shapes and arranging them on a card.  I love the mix of patterns and prints that come in the Hippy Girl paper pad by Kaiser Craft.  I sprinkled the circle punches with some light purple rhinestones for some extra bling.  The sentiment is a sticker from SRM Press.  The whole sheet is fall/Thanksgiving.  The sentiment along the top is a sticker as well.

I wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving full of friends, family, and delicious food!  I am thankful for you everyday and how much I am touched by all your thoughtful comments and those that of you that stop by and visit.  Have a wonderful day!

A {Christmas Greetings} Card...

Tuesday, November 23, 2010

Oh my, I feel so behind.  I have such a busy week and just didn't feel like doing anything yesterday.  Do you ever have those days?  I did get a lot done already today, so that's good.

My card for today uses this week's CPS Sketch.  Their sketches are always so clean and simple and that's why I gravitate to them every week.  I used some specialty paper on my card.  I hope you can see that in the photos.  The cream paper that is embossed with snowflakes is pearl-y and smooth.

The sentiment panel is a thin strip of card stock that I slid into a circle punch to get the rounded edges.  Love that trick!

Have a great day!

OCC Challenge - 3D Holiday Item

Saturday, November 20, 2010

Hello!  I'm here to share a super fun Our Creative Corner challenge.  This week that challenge is to create a 3D holiday item.  It can be anything from a hostess gift to home décor.  Anything goes!  I decided to jazz up this canister of chocolate covered raisins that I bought from my daughter who is a girl scout.  I bought a few of these to give out around the holidays to the mailman, and such.

The papers I used did come from a pack of holiday paper, even though they look pretty neutral.  The hardest part was coming up with colors that worked with the color of the canister lid.  I think it all worked pretty good in the end.
You'll definitely want to see all the cool things the design team came up with.  Head over to Our Creative Corner and check them all out and get some ideas for yourself.  Have a great weekend!!!

Another CSN Store Review!

Thursday, November 18, 2010

Hey guys!  A while back I was contacted by CSN Stores to do a review here on my blog.   I had so much fun doing it that I'm super excited that they want me to do it again.  This couldn't have come at a better time of year, but I don't know if I want to get something indulgent for myself or to buy Christmas gifts.  There are just too many choices.  CSN Stores have over 200 online stores.  So far I've bought a mandoline for cutting veggies and my last purchase was 400 thread count sheets in dark chocolate brown.  They are so luxurious!  I got a great deal on them since they were a returned item.  Someone returned them because they didn't like the color so my package was unopened and brand spanking new!  So many choices, from kitchenware to children's luggage, I'm gonna have a hard time picking out just one thing. But it'll be fun too.  I'll keep you posted!!!

Paper Maniac Thursday - Echo Park

Hello!  This week the Paper Maniac DT and I are focusing on Echo Park.  Echo Park offers collections of 12 x 12 patterned papers.  I haven't seen a collection that I haven't adored.  Today I chose to use the Life is Good collection. The little house is cut out from a sheet of image panels.  The swirl is a sticker that comes with the collection as well.  I only used part of the sticker and cut it off at the edges with scissors.

For my sentiment, I cut a slit in the house panel and punched a hole at the top and bottom.  Then I slid a thin piece of patterned paper through the slit and adhered that paper to the back of the house panel.  This card is also for this week's Sketch Challenge at SCS.

Have a great day!
{Congrats}

A {Giving Thanks} Card...

Tuesday, November 16, 2010

Hello!  I'm so excited to share another card with you using Happy Fall by Clear & Simple Stamps.  This is such a versatile set.  Here I made a Thanksgiving card.  I used some lovely autumnal papers and then stamped the tree top and bottom using Versamark with some gold embossing powder.  I just love the end result.
The perimeter of the card is sponged in brown ink.  I added some gold brads as an accent.  I don't know if you've had the pleasure of using ribbon from Clear & Simple Stamps, but if you haven't you should give it a try.  It is so luxurious!!!  It's double sided satin.  That means you don't have to worry about flipping your ribbon so the matte side doesn't show.  I know what a pain that is and I love not having to ever worry about that with this ribbon.

Thank you for stopping by today!  Have a wonderful day!

OCC Challenge - Color Challenge

Saturday, November 13, 2010

Hello and Happy Saturday!!!  I have this week's Our Creative Corner challenge to share with you.  This week is a color challenge.  You can see the colors to the left.  These colors are really warm and I thought this card would be easy.  But, I really struggled with it.  I like the overall look of my card, but I really with I could shuffle the colors around.

I used a scoring board to create the diamond panel.  Once all the lines were scored, I folded the cardstock and sponged the edge.  When I was done I just flatted out the panel and adhered it to the rust card stock.  The little blue circles came from a small hole punch (1/8" I think) and they are glued down using a drop of liquid glue.
Make sure you check out all of the design team samples at Our Creative Corner.  Make some time and get crafty with us this weekend.

Have a great day!
