CSS Party Hop!!!

Saturday, November 10, 2012

Happy Weekend!!!  I have such a fun project to share with you today.  We are literally having a PARTY HOP!  Each design team member has a party ensemble to share today.  How fun?!!

I used the new set Comic Bursts to create party invitations and cupcake toppers that would be perfect for a child's party.
I started with an A Blanc Check card base.  I used the background stamp Comic Book, stamped it using Dare to Be a Diva Red ink on a piece of A Blanc Check and trimmed it into a thick strip and then matted it on Dare to Be a Diva Red card stock with the edges distressed.  I die cut the Bursts shapes in sizes that can be stacked (A Blanc Check stacked on Your Style Blue Me Away card stock).   The bursts were stamped with a super fun super hero word using Perfect Little Black Dress ink.
Since this is an invitation, I needed to include all the party information.  I have a few invitation sets I could use, but I thought the style of Party Elements: Baby kept with the feel of the ensemble, and there's nothing babyish about it.  I carried over the colors from the front of the card to the inside of the card.
When I was die cutting Bursts shapes for the front of my card, I cut some extra to adhere to toothpicks to stick in my cupcakes.

Have a great weekend!

A Pregnancy {Congratulations} Card...

Wednesday, September 26, 2012

Hey all!  Just a simple card to share today.  I tried to keep it gender neutral since this is a card you would send during the beginning of someone's pregnancy.  Pink/Blue/Brown.  I used a bunch of baby sets for this card, so fun to mix and match.  And look, just one extra layer!
It's rainy today so I had to settle for taking this photo using my light box.  I just love taking my card photos outside.  It just looks so much cheerier.  Don't ya think?

I also have a card featured on the Clear & Simple Stamps iPhone App today.  You won't want to miss this cute one!

Have a great day!

A {Cute as a Button} Card...

Thursday, April 19, 2012

I've seen so many ladies on the CSS DT making cards like this.  I just had to try my hand at it too.  All those buttons are a little tedious since they are each threaded with a sliver of gray card stock.  The whole time I was doing it, I kept hoping it would be worth all the trouble.  I'll let you be the judge.  I'm just not a person that can put a "naked" button on my card, it looks great on everyone else's cards, but looks half-assed when I try to do it.  KWIM?

I had a lot of fun with my scoring board on this one.  I think the diagonal lines look classy.  That little stamp that is replacing a button says "too cute".  I forgot to take a closer pic.
The sentiment panel is a label stamp, stamped in white and then cut out with scissors.  I stamped the sentiment and then attached it under the button panel. I like the little look of whimsy, which is so not like me, LOL.

I'm subbing today in my son's 1st grade classroom.  He is really excited about it.  Hoping for a smooth day all around!

Have a great day!

A Tweet {Happy Birthday} Card...

Wednesday, April 18, 2012

Hey guys!  I'm sitting at the library typing this up.  Our internet is down at home and I didn't want to wait to share this card.  I made two cards this morning and they couldn't be more different.  The other one I'll share tomorrow.  I made it ahead of time since I'll be subbing.

This card is totally clean and simple, I love it!  I actually used three different stamps sets.  The lines are from "Party Elements: Baby," the birds are from "Baby Shower," and the sentiment is from "Craft Room."

I had the birds totally spaced out on a scrap piece of paper exactly where each bird should be stamped, but then I just went for it and started stamping my heart out.  It probably turned out better like that anyway.

Have a great day!

CSS Release Day Review

Thursday, April 5, 2012

Hello there!  It's Clear & Simple Stamps release day in review!  Today the design team and I are focusing on Party Elements: Baby, such a cute set.

I created a cute baby shower invitation for a baby boy, complete with party favor.  I used the elephant die from Baby Shower Die Collection.  You are looking at sneak peek of an upcoming CSS product!  Can you figure it out?

The party favor was super easy to make since I mimicked the design of the card.
Be sure to check out the rest of the design team creations!  You won't want to miss their FABULOUS designs.
Have a great day!

A {Happy 25th Anniversary} Card...

Friday, March 23, 2012

I have a classy anniversary card to share with you today!  Twenty-five years is the silver anniversary, so silver embossing powder was a no-brainer.  This card has a lot of shimmer and shine to it, even the pattern paper has a reflective element.

Here's a little trick I discovered while making this card.  I love the labels image that comes with the CSS set Party Elements:Baby, but I just needed it to be bigger, like twice the size bigger.  Here's what the card looked like without all the embellishments.  I simply stamped the label image twice! Then you just cover up the center with a layer of whatever your heart desires.
Here's a shot I took in the sun so you can hopefully see some of the shimmer from all the silver.
Thanks for visiting today!  I hope you have a fantastic weekend!!!
