Shabby Chic Thank You Card

Wednesday, April 29, 2009

Hello!  I made this card today using the sketch challenge for today at SCS.   I bought a pack of K & Co. paper while I was in Florida.  It was designed by Amy Butler who also designs fabric.  I love it.  I wish I had some throw pillows like this paper.

This card has a lot more "stuff" on it than I'm used to, but I think it gives it a shabby chic feel.  I made the printed flowers with my Birds & Blooms dies and magazine page.  A Prima flower is sandwiched in the middle.

Hope you are having a great day!!!

Monday, April 27, 2009

Hey guys!  We got back from vacation on Saturday and we had a great time in Florida.  I have a busy week coming up and wanted to make sure I took the time to make a card for Kristina Werner's 50th Color Inspiration Challenge.  Congrats Kristina!  I love this color combo, but it is a lot of colors to use.  I decided to use just a hint of red.
Have a great day!!!

Dog Gone Stamps Blog Walk

Saturday, April 25, 2009

Hello!  Welcome to my blog!  Today is the very first Dog Gone Stamps Blog Walk.  If you did not arrive here from Mitzi's Blog, then you may want to start at the beginning at Lauri's Blog.

My card today features a flower stamp from the Flower Set.  I used Versamark and the flower stamp to make the patterned paper.  The middle panel is not white, it's lavender.    This will most likely be a Mother's Day card.
Okay, to follow the Dog Gone Stamps Blog Walk, you will want to go to Lisa's Blog next.  Enjoy the walk!

Happy Friday!!!  We leave for Florida today as soon as Halle gets out of school.  I will be taking my computer with me and I may post some pictures here and there.  I do have a card made for the Dog Gone Stamps Blog Walk that is taking place on April 25th (Details HERE).

Okay, lets talk about the card I made for today.  I stumbled upon this card that I made last year and decided to see if I could do better.  Very simple and elegant.  I flipped the card over and scored all those lines.
Have a great weekend and week!  See you next Saturday!

Birthday Wishes

Tuesday, April 14, 2009

Hello!  This will be a quick post since I wasted so much time trying to figure out how to upload my pictures.  These cards are 4 x4 ones using mostly Papertrey items.  The cardstock is Raspberry Fizz and the pattern paper is from a 6 x 6 pack called Everyday Blessings.  I just love the button treatment.  I picked up a pack of glue dots the other day and love using them to adhere buttons.

Have a great day!

Oh well...

Monday, April 13, 2009

Hello!  After some major technical difficulties, I'm finally able to post my card for today.  Scott and I bought a 'hybrid' computer last week and I saved my pics where he said I should and then they didn't appear in my photo editing program.  Weird.  He'll have to give me another lesson tonight.  Oh well.

This card was really a chore to make.  I think all the candy and junk I ate yesterday depleted my mojo.  This card was supposed to be for Kristina Werner's Color Challenge #49, but the challenge is now closed for submissions.  Oh well.

Enjoy the card and hopeful some of my mojo will come back for tomorrow's card.

{Thanks}

Grateful for you, friend

Friday, April 10, 2009

Happy Friday!  I have a happy little card for you today.  Nichole Heady posted a little bow tying tutorial on her blog today and I just had to try it out.  Pretty good for my first try.  I'm absolutely in love with Papetrey's twill ribbon.  It's so easy to work with.  I have to get some more of that!

Do you have weekend plans?  I'm really looking forward to catching up on the DVR tonight with Scott.  We have so many shows that have piled up.  Hope you all have a Happy Easter!

Just a quickie!

Thursday, April 9, 2009

Just a quick card and post today.  This card is a CASE of this card from Kristina Werner.  It's amazing how quickly a card can come together when you are using someone else's ideas.  I think this card took about 15 minutes.  I love purple and green together!  The stamp is an old $1 one from Michaels.  I need to start making more simple cards like these.  Sweet and simple.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Sketch Challenge at SCS

Wednesday, April 8, 2009

Hello! I'm back today with another sketch challenge card. Today I'm using the sketch challenge at SCS. This card uses paper from the Kiwi Kiss Designer Series Patterns Pack and I think it goes well with Old Olive card stock. The sentiment comes from the Friends 'til the end set from Papertrey Ink. Behind that sentiment I made my own background using a new stamp from Dog Gone Stamps. I used Old Olive ink and "stamped" off once before stamping on my card stock.

Well, I'm off to pick up the kids from school. Have a great day!

Hey guys! I was MIA yesterday because I was at Opening Day for the Cincinnati Reds. They lost and it was really rainy, but we had a great time!

This card uses the layout from Mojo Monday #81 and the colors come from Dawn McVey's Raspberry Suite Challenge #3. I really love these color together. And the stamp is a new one from Dog Gone Stamps and it's from the Grass Set. I love the way it looks as a background stamp.

Take care guys! See ya tomorrow!

One dirty martini...

Saturday, April 4, 2009

Hey guys!  Some new Dog Gone Stamps came in the mail yesterday and I just couldn't wait to play around.  This little martini glass is part of a set of 3.  I used colors from Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration Challenge #48.  Great mix of colors.  This is a smaller card, 3.5"x3.5" and the sentiment is computer generated.  Just perfect to stick on a gift.

I hope you all have a  wonderful and relaxing weekend!

I thought I would take the day off from scrapping and work on my new blog banner.  I am loving PhotoShop Elements.  Since I don't have a card to share today, I thought I would share some of the things I've been lovin' lately.  I think you'll also see that I'm on a health kick.

Last week we borrowed our friends' Wii Fit.  I was looking into joining a gym, but it just didn't fit the budget.   Anyway, the Wii Fit is awesome and I have been SORE for a week!  We are just using the game that came with the system, but it is a good workout and the kids can do it too.   We'll definitely be buying a Wii Fit of our own when we have to give this one back.  My next purchase will be this game.

I borrowed these two books from my brother.  They are awesome.  The first one Eat This, Not That shows you how to improve your diet by swapping out the foods you normally eat with something a little (or a lot) better.  Click here for an example of how these books are laid out (you'll need to scroll to almost the bottom).  The first book has restaurants and grocery items and the second book (Eat This, Not That: Supermarket Survival Guide) goes aisle by aisle in your grocery store.  If you are trying to lose weight or just trying to be a little healthier, I would highly recommend these books.

Speaking of eating, I am loving these Skinny Cow ice cream bars.  What a great reward for working out, eating right, and drinking all that water.  AND these bars are big, unlike these which are the size of a quarter and a serving size is 3!!!

Well, that's all I have for now.  If everything goes right, I'll have a new blog banner tomorrow!
