CSS Group Project!!!

Tuesday, December 11, 2012

We have a super fun project to share with you today!  The CSS design team and I have been challenged to pick a project from our past that we really liked, and then redo it using the new stamp set, Limited Edition: JOY.

The card I am CASEing is the one above.  It's not the greatest photo, but I just love how it looks in person.  It's a CAS card and I wanted to replicate it for a different occasion.

I happened to need a baby shower card for friends of ours that just adopted a newborn baby girl.  It was one of those showers where you bring a book to start the baby's library.  That's where the idea of using the book from Sweet Dreams came from.  I colored the book using copics.
As you can see, I kept the same layout of the card, just switched the card orientation so that the front panel is longer.  I kept the text on the bottom of the card, but used the test from Sweet Dreams filled with nursery rhymes.
The Limited Edition stamp set, JOY, can be used for many happy occasions.  This is just one example. How do you get this Limited Edition set?  Read all about it on the Clear & Simple Stamps Blog.

Check out the rest of the design team as they replicate one of their favorite CSS projects using the new JOY stamp set:

A {Welcome Baby} Card...

Wednesday, September 19, 2012

Hey y'all!  Have you seen this week's Style Watch from CSS?  Well, I saw it and was immediately inspired to create something with my alpha dies.  I really had the urge to mix and match different patterned papers with my letters.
The letters in "baby" are popped up on two different sizes of foam dots (1/4" and 1/8").

Have a great day!

A {Wish Upon A Star} Card...

Tuesday, April 17, 2012

Hello!  Look at me, two days in a row!!!  To be completely honest, I made a two cards today, but the first one was a total dud.  I may try and revive it tomorrow, but it's probably a lost cause.

For today's card, I used the CSS stamp set "Sweet Dreams".  I can't believe this is the first time that moon stamp has seen ink!  Once I stamped it with black ink, it just screamed to be colored with copics.  It's been a while since I used copics and I just love coloring with them, or just coloring in general.  It's so relaxing.
Adding the stars was an afterthought.  It just looked a little plain.  The stars are a tad more subtle in real life.  They are really not that bright and it keeps the soft look of the card.

Have a great day!

A {Sweet Dreams} Card...

Friday, March 30, 2012

Happy Friday!!!  Yay for the weekend!!!  My kiddos are on spring break next week so it'll be a little quiet around these parts, except for a couple posts that I have scheduled.

I'm in love with this simple card I made using the Sweet Dreams set from CSS.  It looks simple, but that's a little deceiving.  There's a lot of masking going on, although they are all straight lines so that did make it quite a bit easier.  My post-it notes really came in handy on this one.

First I created a grid using a ruler and pencil, then one at a time I put post-it notes around each square and sponged the ink in the center.  It really was easy, but just a little time consuming, but well worth it in my opinion.
After all the squares were sponged, I stamped the sentiment and stars (aren't those drool-worthy???).  This is a one layer card that packs a punch!

I hope you enjoyed today's card!  Have a great day!
