A {Cheer Up} Card...

Wednesday, November 14, 2012

Hey there!  I hope you are having a great day!  We've been a little laid back the last two days since my little guy has been sick.  I have been able to sneak in a little crafty time though.

I have a cheery card to share today.  I created a little scene using Cloudy Days, Cloudy Days Sentiments and Clouds Combo Dies.  I even used Imprints 3 (Sunburst) impression plate and Shapes: Circles Dies to create a sun.
Lots of layers to this card.  The sentiment "Cheer Up" is stamped partially on the sun (that is popeped up on foam dots) and partially on the panel underneath.

Thanks so much for visiting me today!!!

An {I am blue without you} Card...

Friday, November 2, 2012

Hi there!  Happy Friday!  We are getting ready for a big event for my son's class tonight.  Excited that it's finally here but glad it will be over so I can stop worrying about it.  I hope the skies are clear (unlike today's card) because we are spending the night looking at the stars!

For my card today, I used some of the newly released stamps from CSS's Collection 5.  I used the background stamp Comic Book to create a rainy background.  I did not mask the open space where the sentiment was placed, I simply stamped above and below the sentiment.

I die cut and stamped some clouds using Clouds Combo and arranged them so they were hanging over the edges, then trimmed them flush with the edge.
It's kind of odd for me to create a card with layers that are not popped up on foam dots.  But I don't think that would have been a good look for this card.   What do you think?

Thanks so much for sharing part of your day with me!  I hope you all have a great weekend!!!

CSS Release Recap & A New Card...

Tuesday, October 16, 2012

Hey guys!  It's been quite a release week, hasn't it?  I personally think it's our best one yet, but I think I say that every time.  Clear & Simple Stamps impresses me more and more with every release.  I don't know how they will top this release, but I'm sure they will.

I have new card to share with you today and then I'm going to do a little recap of the cards I made so far for this release.

First of all, my card looks a little bright (a lot bright really!).  Trust me, it's really not that bright in person.  The sun must have been shining directly on my card, how appropriate!
I embossed the yellow card stock using a new CSS impression plate, Clouds/Sunburst.  On one side it's a sunburst and the other side it's clouds.  I applied that to my card base first and then added my two cloud panels.

In the Clouds Combo set, which is stamps with coordinating dies,  there is an edger die that I used to create these clouds, I guess you could call it a border.  I just love how easy it is to use, and then to line up an accent stamp, it's just really cool.

And here's a recap of a few cards/projects made earlier in this release:

You can see all the new products together in one place by clicking here: COLLECTION 5

Here are some of my DT friends that are also recapping this release.  Check 'em out!

One last thing...
Happy Birthday Nicki!!!

I hope you've enjoyed this release as much as I have!  Have a great day!
