Sending Birthday Wishes...

Hello there! I have a very easy card to share with you today. I created this card by using one sheet of striped patterned paper. You may notice that it's the same paper I used on this card. Using my paper trimmer, I cut nine 1.5" squares and then assembled them on the card in opposite directions. It sort of looks like a basket weave effect.
Even though this was a quick card, it took me some time to figure out where to place the sentiment panel and bow. I think it turned out pretty good where I put it. Well, hope you enjoyed today's card.

Dreams really do come true...

Hello and Happy Monday!!! I know, I'm not really happy it's Monday either. I really needed the Mojo Monday sketch this morning because I had no desire to make a card. Once I saw the sketch, I started to get in the mood to create. And then I saw that the CAS challenge was to make a wedding card, then an idea was born.

I really hope I don't get kicked out of the clean and simple club with this card. It's still pretty clean, but it has a lot of different elements.

OCC Challenge - Happy Fall Y'all!

Hello! It's Saturday which means it's time for another Our Creative Corner challenge. This week I chose Fall/Autumn to be our theme. Anything goes... pumpkins, acorns, trees, leaves, pies, oranges, browns, greens. Whatever says fall to you!

My card is actually quite small, 4.25" x 3". The sentiment "happy" was created on my computer and printed out on Lemon Tart paper. The twill tape wraps around the side of the card and is adhered by staples (one staple on the back of the card and another one under the panel with the brads). The "fall" sentiment is was spelled out using American Craft thickers.

Madonna & Child Cards

Sorry this post is so late today. But it will be worth the wait since I have 4 cards to share with you today. A friend of mine has been having trouble designing cards with a particular stamp set, so she gave it to me to see if I could come up with anything. Well, this morning the ideas were flowing, so I have 4 cards to share. All of these cards use the Madonna & Child stamp set from Stampin' Up.

Here is card #1, probably my favorite one. It's hard to tell in the picture, but the colors are mellow moss, black, and white.

Paper Maniac Wednesday - Ribbon!

Hello! Every Wednesday I will be posting a card for Paper Maniac. Each week I will have a different theme. You can see my card here and then head on over to the Paper Maniac Blog to see what the other design team girls have created. The theme this week is ribbon. I used the Mojo Monday sketch on my card. Since I was busy sleeping in on Monday, I thought I would squeeze it in on this card.

Have you seen the Wee Bundles from Sassafras? They are a pack of 6 x 6 patterned paper (front and back) that sell for $1.49!!!!! For 24 sheets!!! I couldn't believe it either, so I had to order some. Well, I was not disappointed. I used 3 of the sheets on today's card. Cool, huh?
Also, this ribbon is fantastic. You can not find cheaper ribbon with this quality. Paper Maniac has it for $.40 a yard!!! The ribbon I used is 7/8" Grosgrain Raspberry Rose. Totally lovin' it!

Just a little something...

Hello there! Hope you all had a nice long weekend. We sure did! Anyway, I'm here today with a card I am totally loving. This is a little card, 4" x 4". It uses patterned paper from First Fruits by Papertrey Ink, which is also included in Paper Maniacs Make-it-yours card kits. I love that paper and I made the leaves match by using red and orange ink on the leaves. It's a technique called "rock 'n roll". Click here for a tutorial from SCS.
Here's a close-up so you can see the autumn-y leaves. Love that effect!

Hey guys! I was playing around with my stamps last night and created this pretty cool background. There's a lot of Papertrey Ink goodness on this card. The background was created using Guidelines and the circle from Around & About Sentiments. After I made the background, the problem was what to do with it that didn't cover it up. I decided on a little sentiment that complemented the pattern.

A Moxie Fab Card...

Hello! I thought I would try a new challenge today. I read the Moxie Fab World blog everyday and thought it would be fun to finally participate in a challenge (and the prize is awesome too). The challenge was to make a holiday card. Easy enough. I drew my inspiration from this tag I made a couple months ago.

I changed quite a few things. The star is yellow covered in stickles. My tree is bigger at the bottom and gets smaller as you go up. I punched a lattice border to hang from the tree layers. I faux stitched around the border with a white pen. And used a new stamp!
I hope this card is Moxie Fab worthy! It was definitely a fun card to make and gets me in the mood for cooler weather.

You're so sweet...

Hello there! I have a sweet and easy card for you today. This card is tiny (3" x 3.5"), just perfect for a gift tag. I love making these little gift tags on Monday's. Such a great way to boost your creativity after losing it over the weekend.

Well, for today's card I once again used some scraps from my stash of Kiwi Kiss patterned paper. I loved this pack and seriously only have a few scraps left. I am a very frugal scrapper, so when I buy something, I usually use it until it's gone. As you know, I love this stamp set (Everyday Button Bits from Papertrey Ink) and I'm determined to use every image. I'm almost there since I used the little apple stem and leaf. What a cute little card to put on top of a jar of homemade applesauce or apple cake.
