An {Oh Baby!} Card...

Hey friends!  All of my Christmas cards were mailed out this morning and I feel like a weight has been lifted!  It was so nice to sit down and make a non-holiday card.  I decided to make a baby card using Baby Shower and Designer Lines from CSS. 

I started with a kraft card base, then die cut the giraffe into the base.  I cut the brown and blue strips separately, using masking tape to hold the die in the right place while it ran through the Cuttlebug. 

I adhered a square of pink card stock behind the giraffe opening and added a bow to make this card look a little more feminine.

A {Baby Wishes} Card Kit...

Hi there!  Over the weekend I saw CSS's Style Watch featuring a card kit made by Amber.  It was so cute that I just had to make one for myself.  I chose a baby theme.  There will never be a time where baby cards are not needed, it's just a fact of life, one that I'm quite happy about.

You can see the card I made above.  I assembled it, took a photo of it and applied the photo to the front of the kit so that the recipient will know what the card is supposed to look like assembled.  The kit is just slightly taller than the card itself, with a half inch spine to allow room for all the goodies inside.

Once you open the kit, you will see these cute boy and girl giraffes and your choice of sentiment.  The giraffes were made using the giraffe die from Baby Shower Dies, stamped with the giraffe image from the stamp set Baby Shower.  I adorned each giraffe with a bow of floss and a gem for an eye.

On the left side of the kit are the cards, six total.  They come with the sunburst background and second half of the sentiment already stamped on them.  I included some foam adhesive for sticking on the sentiment and giraffe.

I created the little pockets with vellum, that way I wasn't hiding any of the cuteness.

A Pregnancy {Congratulations} Card...

Hey all!  Just a simple card to share today.  I tried to keep it gender neutral since this is a card you would send during the beginning of someone's pregnancy.  Pink/Blue/Brown.  I used a bunch of baby sets for this card, so fun to mix and match.  And look, just one extra layer!

It's rainy today so I had to settle for taking this photo using my light box.  I just love taking my card photos outside.  It just looks so much cheerier.  Don't ya think?

A Baby {Congratulations} Card...

Happy, Happy Friday!  Three glorious days of no homework or getting children ready for school.  Transitioning into back-to-school mode is HARD!  It's been two and a half weeks, it should be getting easier, right?  

So, I enjoying making cards, but today I NEEDED to make a card.  I needed to chill out and be in my own little world for a while and not worry about packing lunches or if I signed the kids' agenda.  I was not in the mood to come up with an original design, so I turned to my Card Inspiration Pinterest Board. I've had my eye on this card for quite a while, today is the day I finally CASEd it!

I looked through my dies and punches to come up with something different than a butterfly so my card didn't look exactly like the original.  When I CASE a card, I try to make it my own as much as possible.  So, as soon as I spotted the giraffe die, I knew I was destined to make a baby card.  

I haven't used patterned paper in I can't even remember how long.  I've been enjoying creating my own backgrounds with stamps.  However, I was in a mood for something different today and gravitated toward patterned paper.

Since I was pleased with how the boy card turned out, I thought, why not make a girl version?  So that's just what I did!

 And here they both are together.  Cute, right?

I hope you all have an amazing holiday weekend!  Here in the Untied States we are celebrating Labor Day on Monday so the kids are off school and my husband is off work.  We are planning on spending some time with friends and family, so I'm hoping that will recharge my battery for next week.

A Tweet {Happy Birthday} Card...

Hey guys!  I'm sitting at the library typing this up.  Our internet is down at home and I didn't want to wait to share this card.  I made two cards this morning and they couldn't be more different.  The other one I'll share tomorrow.  I made it ahead of time since I'll be subbing.  


This card is totally clean and simple, I love it!  I actually used three different stamps sets.  The lines are from "Party Elements: Baby," the birds are from "Baby Shower," and the sentiment is from "Craft Room."  


I had the birds totally spaced out on a scrap piece of paper exactly where each bird should be stamped, but then I just went for it and started stamping my heart out.  It probably turned out better like that anyway.

CSS Release Day Review

Hello there!  It's Clear & Simple Stamps release day in review!  Today the design team and I are focusing on Party Elements: Baby, such a cute set.

I created a cute baby shower invitation for a baby boy, complete with party favor.  I used the elephant die from Baby Shower Die Collection.  You are looking at sneak peek of an upcoming CSS product!  Can you figure it out?

A {Happy 4th Birthday} Card...

We had much fun with with last month's Clear & Simple Stamps Baby Collection release that we are going to review them again. Today the design team and I are focusing on Alphabets + Numbers.  I chose to work with one of my new favorite sets, Number Blocks.

This card took on a life of it's own.  Once I had the idea to link the elephant to the wagon, it snowballed from there.  I just kept adding and adding, far from my usual clean and simple style.  But I do love the way it turned out.  It's good to take a step out of your comfort one every now and again.

A Video {Hello World} Card...

EEEEK!  I made a video!!!  I have to tell you this was so much fun.  Please keep in mind that this was my first attempt and next time I promise it will be so much better.  There are no frills in this one.  I filmed and edited it on my iPad thinking I could change it more on my computer when I finished but no such luck (I'm sure you can do it, but I've spent way more than enough time on this).  So, here ya go!


ETA: I forgot to post the inspiration for this card, it's this card I pinned a while ago from Laura Bassen!


Two things to note:

• I always stamp on a mouse pad, always!  I've found that I get a good, solid image every time.  
• I always stamp on a scrap piece of paper before stamping on my actual card stock.  Some stamps require a gentler touch than others and this is a good way to find out.  The other reason is that you may have a little fuzzy stuck to your stamp and not know it that will get inked up and will show up on your image.

Next time I'm counting on having titles and little notes from me during the video.  Let me know what you think!

An {Oh Baby} Card...

Hi there!  I had a glorious time playing around in my studio this morning.  Halle and I spent some time sketching out card layouts last night and I really think that got my mojo going.  

For my card today I paired up some fun patterned paper with CSS's Baby Shower stamp set and dies.  This would make a cute baby boy card.  I had so much fun with that little elephant that I made a second card that I'll share tomorrow.

This card is pretty straight forward so I won't go into much detail.  The patterned paper was a bit flimsy for me so I die cut the elephant a second time using card stock and adhered the two die cuts together for a more sturdy piece.

CSS Release Day!!!

Hey everybody!  It's a really exciting day around these parts.  It's Clear & Simple Stamps release day!!!  Tons of new stamps and dies are being revealed today, a whopping 41 new items!!!  I won't be listing them all here, just showing the products I used for my release day card.  You can see all the new items by clicking here.

For my card I used a bunch of new items.  Here's my card, scroll down below and will take you on a little tour of what new items I used.

I started out with a plain piece of A Blanc Check of card stock.  


I used the new Circles Trio die to die cut the circles.  This is such a quick way to get precisely spaced circles on your card.
I chose an adorable circular image from the new set Baby Shower.  Then I lined up another piece of white card stock behind the circle windows, then stamped the image using Glamazon Green, Dare to Be a Diva Red, and Your Style Blue Me Away ink, then removed the piece of card stock.

I cut squares from scraps of coordinating card stock and die cut a circle image just slightly smaller than the Circle Trio circles using Shapes: Circles dies.  I used the negative image of the circles create a border for each circle window, then I adhered them to the backside of the card.  I lined up the white card stock with the stamped images and adhered that as well.  ARE YOU STILL WITH ME?

Here's the easy part.  I stamped the sentiment from Baby Sentiments in Perfect Little Black Dress ink, punch a notch on each side of the card then wrapped and tied Red Baker's Twine around the card.
