Paper Maniac Wednesday here on my blog! This week the design team is crafting with their kids. Making a pennant banner was the first thing I thought to make with my kids. I knew they would enjoy making something that could also be used as a decoration in our home. I wanted to make something with a Thanksgiving theme, so I settled on the word "grateful" since I had all the letters for that word :)
I got the kids started by cutting the triangle pennants and stapling them to twill tape. I chose
Indian Summer (Basic Grey) patterned paper for a warm autumn feel. The 6 x 6 pack is the perfect size for this project. Halle and I dipped the chipboard letters in a very wet ink pad of Close to Cocoa (craft ink) and let them dry. When they were finished drying, she glued them into place.
Halle and Colin both loved to decorate the letters with buttons. There favorite part was using the glue.
After the banner dried overnight (they used A LOT of glue!) I covered the staples with another strip of twill tape and added two brown bows to the ends. I think it turned out great and the kids are so proud of themselves. They can't wait to show it off!
