Hello Friend...

Monday, November 30, 2009

Hi there! I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving. Our day was packed with food and family and then we did pretty much nothing the rest of the weekend, which was wonderful. I made this card this morning using this Mojo Monday sketch. The sketch was so simple, I had to try it. I absolutely love this color combo. I used it last week on this card as well.
All the patterned papers come from Basic Grey's Nook & Pantry collection. I hope you enjoyed today's card! Thanks so much for stopping by!

OCC Challenge - Sketch Challenge

Saturday, November 28, 2009

Hello! It's Saturday and that means another challenge from Our Creative Corner. This week we were challenged to create a card using a sketch. I have to say that this card looks a lot like the cards I am sending out this year, just a different color combination. I think this color combination is very calming.

Head on over to Our Creative Corner and see what the rest of the DT created using the sketch.

I hope you all survived Black Friday! I did go out for a bit in the late morning and marked a few people off my list. Enjoy your weekend!!!

Thankful...

Thursday, November 26, 2009

Happy Thanksgiving!!!! I made this card this morning while thinking of you, my wonderful readers and supporters. I am so thankful for all the wonderful people that visit my blog. I truly appreciate you. You guys give me the warm fuzzies everyday. I wish I could send this card to each and every one of you and give you a big hug!

Okay, now that the mushy part is over, onto the card! I used mostly supplies from Basic Grey's Nook & Pantry Collection. The letters and red "ribbon" are stickers from this collection. I had a heck of a time arranging the letters, but they are very forgiving and I was able to manipulate them quite a bit.
I hope you are all spending the day with your families and friends. Have a safe and happy day filled with lots of food!!!

Paper Maniac Wednesday - More holiday decor ideas!

Wednesday, November 25, 2009

Hello & Welcome to another Paper Maniac Wednesday!!! I don't usually decorate every room in my house for the holiday's, but that was before I found a super easy tutorial on how to alter soap bottles. You can find the tutorial I used by clicking HERE.

I bought a $1.00 bottle of liquid soap and peeled off the labels. I used some Goo-Gone to get off the sticky residue. That's all you really need to do to prepare your bottle. For the image inside the bottle, I used Jet Black Stazon Ink to stamp the "Merry & Bright" sentiment on some thick acrylic plastic sheets that came as part of some stamp packaging I had lying around. Regular transparencies will not hold up. It's hard to see in the picture, but there is a silver brad in the center of the stamped snowflake. I tied some festive ribbon around the pump and then added a button and thread. Easy & Cheap!

I have seen these bottles done many ways and for all kinds of occasions. I hope you enjoyed today's project! Keep checking the Paper Maniac Blog for daily inspirations for holiday decor and ornaments.

Just a little {green} something...

Tuesday, November 24, 2009

Hello! I made this cute and simple card today using my favorite color, green. The green striped paper comes from the Basic Grey collection Nook & Pantry. This card uses one of the 12 x 12 sheets. The sentiment is stamped on a tag from the Nook & Pantry: Do Me a Favor Kit. I love the hint of yellow it adds.
Such a cute, clean and simple card. Thanks for visiting my blog today!

You're so sweet...

Monday, November 23, 2009

Hello! I made this card this morning and I would be lying if I told you it all just "came together". It was definitely a struggle after not paper-crafting for a few days. I made this card for two challenges. The Mojo Monday sketch challenge was pretty simple, but the Raspberry Suite color challenge had a lot of colors! Let me tell you about this border I used at the top. It comes from a whole sheet of laser cut borders from Basic Grey called doilies. So fun!
The cupcake comes from a whole sheet of cupcakes. I found the one cupcake that went with the color challenge and cut it out. It's popped up on foam dimensionals and I also put a little rhinestone on the strawberry. Yum!

Thanks for stopping by today!

OCC - Color Inspiration

Saturday, November 21, 2009

Hello! It's Saturday and that means it's time for another Our Creative Corner challenge. As you can see from the image above, this week is a color challenge.
My card is pretty straight forward, so I will spare you the details. I did create a frame around the flowers using a ruler and a marker. Such an easy technique, but it adds a bit of sophistication.
You won't want to miss what the Our Creative Corner DT created using this color combination. I hope you have some time to play along with us this week!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year...

Friday, November 20, 2009

Hello! I'm back today with another card that uses Polar Expressions by Imaginisce. I didn't realize how simple this card was to make until I started writing the supply list. Easy peasy! The candy canes come from one sheet and the criss-cross pattern is on the flip side.
Hope you all have a great weekend! I'll be back early tomorrow with another Our Creative Corner challenge!

We Wish You a Merry Christmas...

Thursday, November 19, 2009

Hello! Well, my mojo is slowly coming back as I'm emerging from this sinus mess (although now it's moving downward to my chest). I pulled out my new Papertrey stamps today and made this cute holiday card.

I stamped the kraft card base with chocolate chip ink using my new Text Style stamps. I love the little added interest. The patterned paper I used came from a pack called Polar Expressions from Imaginisce. The hats were on one sheet and I cut out the scarf from another. I am totally *swooning* over this Signature Christmas set. I absolutely love Dawn McVey's handwriting. Her newest set is already on my wish list.
Such a cozy card! Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Paper Maniac Wednesday - Photo Ornament

Wednesday, November 18, 2009

Hello! It's Paper Maniac Wednesday here on my blog and I'm here to show you another ornament you can make yourself. We just had our family pictures taken, so I wanted to make an ornament with our family photo and the year. The paper I used for this ornament is Elan Metallics and is called Graphite. As you can hopefully see in the picture below, this paper has a gorgeous shimmer to it. I used two Labels 9 Nestabilities Dies to make a frame. I used the second and third largest dies. I printed "2009" using my computer and printer and cut it out using the smallest Oval Nestabilities die.

The Paper Maniac DT have been posting ornament and holiday decor ideas all month over on the Paper Maniac Blog. Head on over and check them out!

A Mojo & Embellish Challenge Card

Tuesday, November 17, 2009

Hello! I feel like it's been forever since I've posted anything. I've been pulled in many directions lately and on top of that, I'm sick. Anyway, I finally got a few moments of solitude to play around with some new stamps. This card uses Papertrey's Background Basics: Text Style stamps. I used the Mojo Monday Sketch, which I tweeked a tiny bit.
I'm also participating in a new challenge at the Embellish Magazine Blog. This challenge was to use the colors blue, green, yellow, and red and you also had to use brads. Well, I don't own any colored brads, so I made some "faux brads" out of small punched circles. You can see them as the butterfly centers.

Well, thanks so much for stopping by for a visit today!

OCC Challenge - Postcard Inspiration

Saturday, November 14, 2009

Hello & welcome to another Our Creative Corner challenge. This week's challenge could not have come at a better time. The challenge is to use the format of a postcard as your inspiration. Well, one of my best friends wanted me to come up with some ideas for her son's birth announcement, and the only stipulations were that the base had to be navy and they had to be postcards. How perfect did this work for me! So, I kept the same format as a postcard by dividing it into two sides. Please note that these baby pictures came from Microsoft Clip Art.
I also made a flipped version of the birth announcement so my friend could see what she liked the best. Both announcements use the same supplies, just used in different ways. I especially liked using the ribbon for the corner edges. ETA: The fonts I used are Glider Girls for the baby's name and Corbel for all the details.

Thanks for stopping by today! Check out the other DT creations on the Our Creative Corner blog. I hope you have time to play along with us this week. Enjoy your weekend!!!
